The Mummy, a classic horror monster, has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows. One of the most recognizable depictions is likely from the Universal Monsters franchise.

He is typically portrayed as an ancient Egyptian priest or noble, cursed and entombed alive. Through various means, he is resurrected, often seeking revenge or attempting to reclaim something stolen from his tomb.

Boris Karloff's portrayal in the 1932 film, The Mummy, is a defining performance, establishing many of the tropes associated with the character. This version, named Imhotep, is revived after thousands of years and seeks his lost love.

Other notable versions exist, sometimes incorporating elements of action and adventure, as seen in the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies. These movies gave the character a new and more modern audience.
